How Your Contributions Help

Foundation-Supported Activities in 2019

The Foundation helps pay for various special programs and materials not covered by the main library of the Library. Examples include:

Battle of the Books: A grant from SC Johnson, Inc., again purchased a set of books for all third- and fourth-grade classrooms for Racine Unified and all private and parochial schools.

Author Interaction: The foundation brings local authors to speak to the community. Examples in 2019, including Breakfast with the Authors, which was held at the Library and “Gift of Our Wounds”, which was held at the Golden Rondelle, and done in conjunction with  SC Johnson.

Technology: The Foundation upgraded and expanded Computer Access for patrons, both in the physical library and proving Chromebooks and hotspots that patrons can use at home.

Friends of the Racine Public Library:  A portion of annual appeal donations supported programming and other activities of the Friends.

The Library has adopted a new Strategic Plan and the Foundation will be working diligently to help support the 20 Leaps of Faith spelled out in that plan.
